Hello!
Welcome to my site, Speaking My Mind. I will share my journalistic, public speaking and creative work as well as my thoughts and experiences as a person with cerebral palsy (CP). I will also share my insights on resources and how I use assistive technology to make the most out of my life.
About Me
I am best known as “Arcy.” I graduated with honors from New Mexico State University (NMSU) in December 2025, where I majored in journalism and media studies with a double major in Spanish. As a Hispanic, I am a bilingual disability advocate. Recently, I’m the Marketing & Development Coordinator for Love of Rose LLC, an agency that advocates and helps students with disabilities reach their career and life goals. Diagnosed with CP at eight months old, I have navigated life with determination, resilience and perseverance. During college, I got articles published intended to advocate, educate, integrate and advance the notion that diversabilities are part of society. One article even inspired a news story on NBC Nightly News in 2021. I also have presented a few panel discussions in El Paso, Texas and Doña Ana County. I have been featured in Telemundo 48 El Paso, ABC 7, Univision 26 and KTSM 9. I hope this platform, along with my social media outlets, helps empower diversabilities to positively dispel disability marginalization and stigmatization.
